01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

While holding solid pork bone richness, the broth at Ramen Tsuru in Higashi-Iko, Adachi Ward, is notably mild, keeping sharp saltiness and aggressive seasoning in check. Reminiscent of the Iekei tonkotsu-shoyu tradition, it steers clear of excessive heaviness or unpleasant gaminess, making it easy to finish bowl after bowl. Each serving comes with tender chashu pork, a generous mound of spinach, and crisp sheets of nori seaweed, creating an appealing contrast of textures.

When ordering noodles here, the rice offered for 100 yen makes a natural partner. Made with Japanese rice, it is topped with finely chopped chashu pork well steeped in sauce; it is deeply satisfying eaten straight or wrapped with nori that has soaked up the ramen broth.

The standard tonkotsu ramen is available in salt as well as soy sauce, with options such as Tonkotsu Special and Tonkotsu Chashu for those who want an abundant spread of toppings. The menu also spans flame-cooked grilled miso ramen with adjustable spice levels, the fiery Benitsuru Ramen, and mazesoba with free extra noodles. Tabletop condiments—including grated garlic, house-made chili oil, and ground sesame—let diners adjust flavors to their liking down to the last spoonful.

Seating includes a counter along with tables in the back, suiting solo lunches as well as casual group meals. Orders are placed verbally and settled after the meal in traditional fashion, with PayPay accepted for payment.
